Innovative, locally driven research, development and extension leading to best practice irrigation for croppers and mixed farmers

Our Research Centre located at Kerang provides an ideal environment to conduct locally relevant research in environmental conditions relevent to Northern Victoria and Southern New South Wales.

Irrigation Farmers Network (formerly Irrigated Cropping Council) has been delivering independent research since 2002. While the focus has been on variety trials of barley, canola, faba beans, oaten hay, triticale and wheat under irrigated conditions, trials have also been conducted looking at key agronomy and management best practice such as nutrient management, fungicide strategies and irrigation timing.

Irrigation Farmers Network connect growers with key information, extension activities and training enabling them to stay up to the date with industry best practice.

Collaborating with key research/extension organisations and funding bodies ensures our research is innovative focusing on best practice to drive profitable, sustainable farm systems.
